OSTEOPATHIC INFORMATION
The General Osteopathic Council is a statutory body that regulates the profession of Osteopathy. It produces The Statutory Register of Osteopaths, overseas education and conduct and promotes the development of the profession.
The British Osteopathic Association (BOA) is an independent, professional body which produces a regular newsletter and a journal and also promotes the development of the profession. It runs the 'Find an Osteopath Service, whcih allows people to search for an osteopath by name, postcode, place name or practice name.
is a post-graduate study group for osteopaths working in the cranial field (often called 'cranial osteopaths') and promotes the understanding of cranial osteopathy. It is not a registering body and does not assess the competence of its members. It does produce a directory of members but this is not a definitive representation of all osteopaths who work in the cranial field. The directory is available on the society's website.
