THE OSTEOPATHS AND OUR SPECIALISATIONS
At Brighton Osteopaths we are committed to on going learning and to teaching
on undergraduate degree courses and, as such, have developed skills and
interests in particular areas of treatment. We all treat using structural,
cranial and visceral techniques.

Sue Van Emden D.O.
Sue trained at the European School of Osteopathy in Kent qualifying in
1995. Having previously taught obstetrics to undergraduate osteopaths
she has a special interest in treating pre and post partum women, as well as babies
and children.
She has written various articles for ABC - the local information magazine for Sussex and Surrey parents with young children. To view these articles see Published Articles on the main menu. Sue has given a presentation on osteopathic treatment for Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI) at the RSI Association AGM and keeps up to date on current research in this area.
She has practised meditation, yoga, t'ai chi and the alexander technique over many years and brings her knowledge of relaxation techniques, exercises and posture work into her treatment approach. |

Brigitte Burnett D.O. MSc (Osteo)
Brigitte trained at the European School of Osteopathy where for the
past seven years she has supervised students in their clinical training
of the treatment of both adults and children.
She also lectured at the
school in Paediatrics and the osteopathic care of children. Presently, Brigitte is part of the team assessing final year students in osteopathic examination and technique.
Brigitte worked for four years at the Osteopathic
Centre for Children in London. For the last seven years she has worked
at Brighton's Dolphin House Children's Clinic.
In her private practice at Dyke Road Natural Health Clinic, Brigitte
uses a broad range of techniques to treat all age ranges and, like her
colleagues has much experience in treating children and expectant mothers. |

Simon Murray D.O.
Simon trained at the European School of osteopathy and has been in practice
since 1995. He combines his private adult practice with his work at The
Children's Clinic at Dolphin House. Simon uses a wide range of osteopathic
techniques including cranial osteopathy. |
Hannah Ellicock BSc (Hons) Ost, BSc (Hons) Biochem
Originally from Sussex, Hannah trained at the College of Osteopaths on their 5 year program, qualifying in 2007. Prior to training as an Osteopath, she studied as a biochemist and worked in medical research, qualified as an exercise instructor in 2002 and a holistic massage therapist in 2003. This background means that Hannah uses a wide range of diagnostic and treatment techniques.
She has undertaken courses in Cranial and Visceral Osteopathy and enjoys treating a wide variety of people from babies, pregnant women, sports people and the elderly. She has a particular interest in women's health and treats with a naturopathic approach.

Marie Maubouche B.Ost, BA (Hons)
Marie trained at the British School of Osteopathy in London on their 5 year program and has been working since 2007 at the BBC in London and also in a holistic clinic in Richmond.
Marie specialised in paediatrics and expectant mothers during her training and treats using a range of visceral, myofascial, cranial and structural techniques.
Following a change in career from the telecommunications industry prior to qualifiying as an osteopath Marie qualified as a Sports Massage Therapist. To enhance her practice and love of Pilates Marie has also recently completed a Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation course and integrates these skills to her treatment where necessary. |
